Palmira Fall Tour 2021

Welcome to the first year of the Palmira Fall Tour. We hope that this is a fun and competitive fall golf league for everyone. Palmira has been kind enough to allow us to play on Monday afternoons so first off, please make sure to respect the course, employees, and other golfers. Repair your ball marks, divots, and take care of the course as if it’s your home, because for 8 weeks out of the fall, it is! Greens Fees for The PFT is $20.

Cost for the league is $10 due by September 13, this fee will go towards the end of the year banquet food that will be provided by Palmira as well as cost of weekly prizes for closest to the pin. Each week there is a $10 tournament fee to be turned in at the end of your round along with your scorecard. This money will go directly towards prizes that will be awarded to each individual player at the end of the year banquet. In order to qualify for the end of the year banquet and prizes you must play at least 4 weeks with us this season.

Palmira Fall Tour is a fun and competitive league for anyone that would like to play. Our league is a bit different than most so here are some of the details of the league. Single players will compete against the field for the prize(s) at the end of the year. Each week you set up your foursome for the day and play anytime after 2:00pm on Monday afternoon/evening, must complete your round on Monday, if you show up after 5:30pm, you must beat the sun or you’re finishing in the dark. You must play with at least one other person from the league to keep scores honest. Handicaps will be taken but will take three weeks to establish handicaps for the league, we will not be using usga handicaps. For the first few weeks we will use 80% of your scores for your handicap and then after the three weeks your handicap will be calculated by the PFT Committee.

Scores each week will be compared to everyone else in the field and placed from first to last. Just like the PGA tour events there will be a purse each week that is based on the tour event for the given week. First place will receive 18% of the purse, 2nd place 10.9% and so on down the list. This Purse is imaginary and will not be paid out each week, sorry fellas. However, the total purse money given during the week will be added together until the end of the year when one person stands at the top of the field as the Palmira Fall Tour Champion. This is where it gets interesting. At the end of the year banquet we will have a room full of prizes (which is paid for out of the $10 weekly tournament fee) for league members to choose from. They will be laid out for everyone to admire while the final week is being played. After lunch we will start with the 1st Place winner and they get to choose first. Then 2nd place chooses and down the line til the last person gets to pick up their prize! Prizes will range from Golf Clubs, Range finders, bluetooth speakers, Dozens of Golf Balls, Tools, Garage Stuff, and much more depending on the amount of players that we have and the deals that we can get from local partnering stores. None of these items are guaranteed to be there, but we will do our best to have the prizes be things that are desired and not a bunch of junk.

Weekly Updates can be found @ www.longballgolf.com and will be updated by Wednesday morning each week so that everyone can keep up to date with where they sit in the standings all year round.

Unless otherwise discussed with the committee, men will play from the white tees, women will play from the red tees. Anyone over the age of 68 may play from the senior tees.

In case of inclement weather or conditions of the course being unplayable, we will notify everyone via email and have a cancellation message on the website before 12pm on Monday. We will not cancel if there is a drizzle and the course will be open, bring your rain gear. If we have to cancel, we will have an extra week at the end of the season in case of a makeup week. If there are more than one weeks cancelled, only one makeup week will be added and the rest will be forfeited.

At the end of your round, please leave your scorecard and $10 with one of the committee members. If you finish early or a committee member is not to be found, place your scorecard and $10 in the lock box located inside at the front desk. If you do not leave this with a committee member or the lock box and your scorecard and $10 can not be found we will not be able to count it towards a completed round.
